The Boxer
It's been a while since I did much digital painting. Every time I try it out it seems to frustrate me how many sliders and menu option I have to switch before I make each stroke. Well I stumbled upon a really awesome blog the other day by an illustrator named Sarah Mensinga. She has some great characters and some are very nicely digitally painted too. This inspired me to give it another shot. So I scanned in a recent sketch and went to town...For some reason unbeknownst to me, I started this at about 1am and I must have been having fun because I kept going till 4. I do rather like working this way digitally, maybe I'll do some more, though I'm pretty sure I'll always be an analog guy when it comes to paint. You just can't beat a real brush. ...but you do have to wait for the paint to dry. hm.

Long time, Bobby! I love your work. Just getting into digital photography myself, there is something fun about digital artwork, but I prefer a real piece of film, chemical soaked paper, canvas, brush, hunk of wood, etc. to a mouse, computer screen and printer. I guess we are just "old fashioned" my friend. My philosophy, "good art takes time and patience." So, continue waiting for that paint to dry!
