I also encourage anyone supportive of clean energy to visit the Department of Energy's Green Power Network to find out if there is a supplier of clean energy in your area. Many people don't even realize that they can easily sign up to purchase their electricity from clean sources for a near negligible increase in price.

ReplyDeleteHi there Rob!... an inventive green garden green visual metaphor!~ Your plea is sound on one level of thinking... but absolutely crazy on a level which we have experienced in our area.
ReplyDeleteThe wind "gardens" were strategically planted on a large island in Lake Ontario... Wolfe Island... which beyond the fact had prime farm land... now gobbled up forever... but as well this particular site is the main crossing point on the Eastern Flyway for songbirds, geese and waterfowl making their way south for the winter months. They have taken a real beating "running the gauntlet" through this maze of rapidly turning wind generators.
The need for green energy is a must as you said... but government officials need to consider their decisions more thoroughly before "planting" their wind "gardens".
I love the painting though... a very imaginative painting... well drawn and executed!

Thanks L.W. Roth and thanks Bruce Sherman. A good point to be considered. There is often a balance to be struck between the weight problems to be solved. Hopefully a solution to the danger for birds can be found as well or at least better way to manage the problem. Other clean energy sources might be the answer, but unfortunately money currently weighs heavily on the balance of problems. Wind energy is currently the most financially economical of clean sources.
