As I mentioned before I had been looking at some Charles Dana Gibson drawings recently and they inspired me to take out my dip pen and ink well. I managed to keep from spilling my ink well and creating any kind of catastrophic mess at the coffee shop (as I was a little nervous about) and here are the resulting drawings...

These are excellent drawings! I need to hang out at the coffee shop as well - so many different types of people in there to draw.
ReplyDeleteDo you make any light marks with a pencil before laying down the ink?
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian!
ReplyDeleteI don't draw these out with pencil first. However, if I were going to do anything more complicated, involving compostition for instance, I would use pencil first.
Cool portraits. I like the style.
