Hurray! Monday night portrait session have begun once again after the summer break. We had a great model named Svetta for the first session last Monday, hopefully we'll have her back again.
These sessions do great things for keeping my painting in practice. More to come...
Wonderful work. I've been visiting your site to see your sketches, it's a delight to see your paintings as well.
ReplyDeletehey bob! that's great to see the portrait sessions start up again ~ i really like the way you are approaching new techniques with this one: the almost dry brush, light scumbling as the ebauche is great! it makes a fantastic comparison with the thicker strokes on the face.
ReplyDeletei will say this though, is the photo a bit contorted? it seems she could have a little more vertical stretch to her...just a quick fix in good old PS though.
take care!
tim
Thanks michelle.
ReplyDeleteHey Tim! I am happy with the dry brush effects I got in this one, I feel like I'm getting somewhere now.
The model did actually have a very short, round face, but I did also squish it a little when I drew it out. Oh well, it's hard to manage everything in a 2-3 hour pose.
looking solid Rob! I will see you at Illuxcon!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
